ImageNow 6.7 - New Feature Update #2 - Updated Document Index Keys

In the first ImageNow 6.7 update we took a look at the new Folders and Content Modeling feature. While this change does not directly impact any of our UMS ImageNow implementations, it does have a ripple effect on an area of the system that we do use - Index Keys. There are two key changes to be aware of:
  • The Folder and Tab index keys have been renamed to Field 1 and Field 2 - This brings the first two Index Key fields into line with the others, which were already named Field 3, 4, and 5. With Projects being renamed to Folders, it makes sense that the Folder key would be renamed to avoid confusion. For the most part, users will be minimally affected by this as the Index Keys for each implementation have their description set to match the data being entered - EMPLID, Name, etc. However, this may be visible when using some of the searches, like All Documents.
  • A new Index Key titled "Name" has been added - To allow for documents to have a discrete path when working with Folders and Content Modeling, a Name field has been added. Since we are not yet using those features, this field will be inaccessible for all users. However, given that Name is a standard Document Key for many implementations, this may still cause some confusion. The new Name field will either be empty or will contain a long string of letters and numbers. In either case, at this point in time we recommend just ignoring this field.
Here's a look at how the Index Keys look in 6.7 (left), compared to version 6.6 (right):
